What happened: The commission discussed rezoning and a development plan for Hoosier Village North on 68.6 acres at 10201 Zionsville Rd.
What it means: This will be an extension of the existing Hoosier Village retirement community, including 156 duplexes and seven estate lots. The plan also includes a pocket park, garden area, dog park, pavilion and trails.
What’s next: The Zionsville Town Council is expected to vote on the rezoning at its Sept. 6 meeting.
What happened: The commission approved the establishment of a lot in the Residential Village Zoning District.
What it means: The .275-acre lot is on land owned by Zionsville Christian Church, 120 N. Ninth St. The minor plat approval splits this land from the church property.
What’s next: The new lot is expected to go on the marketplace and be used for a single-family dwelling.
What happened: The commission approved a primary plat to divide 32.31 acres at 8250 E. 100 S. into four residential lots.
What it means: Although two commissioners expressed concerns about traffic on the gravel road, the commission voted, 5-2, to allow the site to be divided into lots for four homes.
What’s next: Nick Churchill, representing petitioner PL Properties, LLC, said two of the four new lots are already contracted, and construction is expected to begin soon.
