With the start of football season right around the corner, the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville has organized a tailgating fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 20.

“This is our annual fundraiser. This year, we’re changing it up. We’re having a tailgate theme,” said Susie McKenna, Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville board member. “People can dress up in school spirit attire, whether that be for Zionsville, a college they attended or a college for which they have an affinity.  We’ll have college flags and banners all around.”

The event will be at the Indianapolis Executive Airport, 11329 E. Ind. 32, Zionsville.

“It sets up nicely for event space. They have huge doors on the hanger that can be opened up into an indoor area,” McKenna said. “We’re working to have pickup trucks in the outside area so people can sit in the bed of a truck and have that tailgate atmosphere.”

The Bishops will perform live music. Guests can participate in tailgate-themed games like corn hole and ladder golf. Local businesses will provide the food.

“We’ll have tailgate types of food – wings, burgers and dessert bites. Of course, beer is part of any good tailgate, so there will be refreshments served, as well,” McKenna said.

Guests can purchase general-admission tickets for $50 or VIP tickets for $125.

“You’ll get a couple of perks that evening. You’ll get food and beverage tickets. VIPs will also get a giveaway item, a camp chair that you can use at the event,” McKenna said.
