Reverend Jerry James Ronk, age 77, Noblesville, died Aug. 1.
Jerry was born to Mae and Jesse Ronk in Newark, Ohio, April 21, 1939. He grew up in Akron, Ohio, and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jerry married his sweetheart, Illona (Loni) Johnson June 13, 1970 and retired from Ford Motor Company after 42 years of service. He and his wife proudly pastored Faith Tabernacle Church in Youngstown, Ohio, for 15 years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Mae; father Jesse, brother John, baby sister Patricia and his infant twins, James William and Theresa Ann. His legacy lives on in his wife, Loni, children Jonathan (Yvonne) Ronk and Lisa (Michael) Duell, grandchildren Brittany, Kasey, Zachary, Lauren, Emma and Jonathan, and his “brothers and sister,” Bob Mann, and Krishna and Chandra Krishnamurthy. He was also warmly referred to as “Tata” (Grandpa) by Krishna and Sadhana Sethuraman, and loved as “uncle” by his many close friends of India. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews and many other close loved ones, including his cousins whom he cherished, and his beloved puppy, Maxx.
