Project Good: VBS produce drive benefits The Caring Center

0

Christ Lutheran Church, as a part of its Vacation Bible School, conducted a fresh produce drive. Kids brought fresh vegetables each day for delivery to the Caring Center in Lebanon.  While many organizations conduct food drives, the fresh produce drive was intended not just to feed but also to teach kids about healthy eating. The VBS program had a farm theme throughout.

A food drive that focuses on fresh produce requires more coordination than one that includes only nonperishable food items to ensure the food reaches the customers while still fresh. A Christian organization, the Caring Center runs a food pantry, as well as a variety of other programs designed to help those who are struggling to get back on their feet again.
