The Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville is getting creative with fun ways to raise money for programming and its later expansion and new campus.

Hoping to make it an annual event, the club will be hosting its first Cornhole Tournament later this week on Aug. 12 at Dillon Park, 6001 Edenshall Lane, Noblesville, at the northeast corner of 146th Street and Hazel Dell Road.

“We felt that hosting a cornhole tournament was something fun and different,” BGCN Executive Director Becky Terry said. “All skill levels can join in and enjoy a day of outdoor entertainment and networking.”

Teams of two can sign up to compete in the double-elimination tournament, which kicks off at 1 p.m. for the first round. Check-in begins at noon.

“We can take up to 60 teams,” Terry said. “Teams can register the day of as long as we are not sold out.”

A consolation bracket will be in effect, but competitive play will culminate in a winner-takes-all championship game for a cash prize. A blind-draw tournament will be played for those who have been eliminated from the main tournament and would like to keep playing for $5 per person.

The registration fee per team will be $50, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt and an entry into door-prize drawings. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Other games and contests will be held throughout the event.

Those interested can register online at www.bgcni.org. Sponsorship opportunities are still available at a wide range of levels. For more, call the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville at 317-773-4372, or email [email protected].
