Hazel M. Box , 96, Indianapolis, died July 27 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab – Allison Pointe (Castleton) in Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 28, 1919 to Elmer and Freddie Sara (Collins) Minchew in Lake Village, Ark.
Hazel retired from Firestone Industrial Products in Noblesville in 1978 after 28 years of service. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Noblesville, where she loved directing the choir.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Abbey) Box and Harold (Shirley) Box, brother Morris Minchew, sister Barbara Gibson, 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Box, who died in 2001, and three sons, Bobby, Curtis and Howard Box.
