With national appearances from coast to coast and two EPs, the band Ripe continues to gain popularity. The band will be the headline musical act for the IU Health North Hospital Art of Wine on Saturday, July 16 i n the Carmel Arts & Design District.

Made up of seven musicians, many from the Berklee College of Music, Ripe was founded on the belief that with enough passion and honesty, music can still make the earth shake.

As a band, Ripe owes much to fate and to the city of Boston that brought the seven members together. The original members of Ripe met during a jam session at a college party and their music snowballed from there. Theirs is truly an eclectic mix, and inspired by everything from John Coltrane to South African influences.

Ripe’s appearance at IU Health North Hospital Art of Wine comes just weeks after their performances at Gramercy Theatre in New York and the “High Sierra Music Festival” in California. Immediately following their appearance in the District, the band heads out to New Jersey to play at the “F.A.R.M. Music and Arts Festival.”

IU Health North Hospital Art of Wine is an evening event that marries art and wine in a relaxing atmosphere. Guests of all ages can enjoy the festival, unique stores, galleries, and music for free on  from 5 – 10 p.m., July 16 as there is no cost to enter the District. For adults who wish to sample wines and are 21 years or older (photo ID required), the cost is $20, which includes a souvenir wine glass for the first 5,000 participants.
