Obituary: Kenny VanDeventer

Kenny VanDeventer, 78, Noblesville, formerly of Westphalia, Ind., died June 28 at Sunrise on Old Meridian in Carmel with his family at his side. It had been a long, hard journey for him, but, at last, he has found peace. He was born Oct. 1, 1937 in Bloomfield, Ind., the third son of Wayne and Fern (Helms) VanDeventer.

Ken retired in 1991 after 33 years with the Westinghouse/ABB Corp. in Bloomington.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carole (Due) VanDeventer, daughters Jami Gray of Westfield and Vicki Randall of Carmel, three grandsons, Dylan Randall, Carson and Brandon Gray, granddaughter Annabelle Walters and brothers Leon and Ray of Bloomfield and Lonnie of Marion.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Dewey VanDeventer.
