Letter: Council shouldn’t be regulating kids on golf carts

0

Editor,

I’m confused as to why the City Council is involved in a matter of too many kids on a golf cart. This should never have gotten to the city council or to even be considered as a law to cover all residents of Carmel. Why aren’t the parents telling their kids that only four in the golf cart or lose the privilege of driving the golf cart? If it involves a particular neighborhood on the west side, get the homeowners association involved. Have police officers talk to the kids. I would think that Council President Carter and the council have more important things to do than to pass a bill “aimed at kids piling into golf carts, a problem on the city’s west side.” Parents need to step up in this matter, not the council.
