Jay Schrock, 53, of Carmel, passed away unexpectedly on June 19. He was born on July 30, 1962, in Elkhart, Ind., to the late Roscoe and Doris Hoogeweg Schrock.
Jay graduated from Elkhart Central High School. He then received his bachelor of science degree from Indiana University in computer science. Jay worked for Anthem Wellpoint.
Jay will be remembered for his uniquely funny and curious personality. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly riding his motorcycles, camping and traveling. Of course he loved anything related to technology. He always appreciated reading a good book. Jay was quite talented musically. He played the trumpet in different concert bands for many years and was also a talented pianist.
Jay is survived by his children, Nick Schrock, Carly Schrock and Julia Schrock; brothers, Roger Schrock, Tom Schrock, Mike Schrock and Chris Schrock.
Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. June 30 at College Park Church, 2606 W. 96th Street, Indianapolis, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m.
