Catherine L. Burge, 70, Noblesville, died June 8 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. She was born Aug. 14, 1945 to Edward and Rosemary (Fitzgerald) Benko in Lakewood, Ohio.

Catherine was a 1964 graduate of Lakewood High School, and for just more than 20 years, worked for the U.S. Dept. of Defense. She began as secretary, then military pay clerk in Cleveland, then moved to Fort Belvoir, Va. for six months. Later, Catherine moved to Lexington Park, Md. and worked as an executive secretary with the department, retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church but more recently attended Our Lady of Grace. A natural comedienne, Catherine loved a good joke and was known to tell a few good ones as well. She had a heart for animals and loved her three rescue cats; she also wanted to adopt a dog. Catherine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed computer games and traveling with her husband, especially to Shipshewana, where they enjoyed many meals at the Amish restaurants.

Catherine is survived by her husband Daniel Burge, who she married Aug. 12, 2000, sister Mary Benko, brother Ed (Pat) Benko and a niece. In addition to her parents, her sister, Rose Ferlin, preceded her in death.
