The generous attitude of the Christmas season isn’t limited to just one day of the year here in central Indiana.

Christmas in Action is a faith-based organization founded on the idea of neighbors helping neighbors – friends and strangers alike taking the initiative to reach out to low-income, elderly or disabled individuals in need of home repairs.

In past years, Christmas in Action has helped replace floors, redo bathrooms, paint on both the interior and exterior of homes, build stairs and ramps, patch roofs and much more. It is an example of total community involvement, with many individuals volunteering to help complete these projects. Local businesses also get involved by donating supplies and/or food for the workers.

This year’s Christmas in Action Blitz Day will take place at 8 a.m. May 21. The organization is currently looking for qualified homeowners in need of assistance in completing home repairs. They are also looking for volunteers and businesses that can donate time, money, food or materials. All donations, in whatever form, are equally appreciated. Volunteers are not required to be experienced in construction.
