A Boone County man is dead after his gun accidentally discharged, police said.
Medics found Lester Wethington, 49, face down in the backyard of his property in the 300 block of S 500 W in Lebanon on May 12. He suffered a gunshot wound on the right side of his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Information released by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office stated that an investigation concluded that Wethington was preparing to go target shooting in his backyard when he accidentally tripped and fired the Glock 30S, a .45 caliber handgun.
