Newcomer, CarlaCarla Newcomer
Personal: Newcomer lives in Zionsville and has been a Boone County resident since 2003. She has three daughters, Hannah, Allison and Emily, and has been married to her husband, Kelly, for 26 years.
Background: Newcomer, 52, is the chief deputy in the Boone County auditor’s office. She began working in the office in 2013. She graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1982 and earned a degree from Indiana University South Bend in 2012. She isalso involved with Zionsville Fellowship Church, the Boone County Time Capsule Committee, Centennial Ball Committee and is an associate member of the Indiana Paralegal Association.

Myers, HeatherHeather R. Myers
Personal: Myers is a lifelong resident of Lebanon. She has two sons, Brayden Myers and Brenden Montgomery, and is engaged to Brian Montgomery.
Background: Myers, 43, is a graduate of Lebanon High School and the Boyd School of Business and Travel. She is a legal assistant in the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office. She is involved in the Boone County Women’s Republican Club, Traders Point Christian Church and the Christian Emphasis Committee. She is a cheer coach at Champion Cheer and Tumbling and is a Witham YMCA board member.

Love, JimJim Love
Personal: Love has lived in Lebanon his entire life, 51 years. He is married to Kim, who works for the Lebanon Community School Corporation. He has two sons: J.B., 24, a project engineer for Wilhelm Construction, and Zach, 23, who works for Boone REMC.
Background: Love graduated from Lebanon High School and Purdue University. He works as a light robotics manager/herbicide specialist at Beck’s Hybrids. He is a mentor at Lebanon Middle School and is involved with Boone County 4-H. By July, he will have five generations of his family currently living in Boone Co.

Freeland, SteveSteve Freeland
Personal: Freeland, 59, has been married to Jan for 29 years, and he has two daughters, Lisa and Steph, and three grandsons. He has lived in Zionsville since July 2000.
Background: Freeland is a graduate of Pike High School and IUPUI, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. He also received an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is the CEO of Cancer Care Group in Boone Co. He attends Zionsville United Methodist Church and chairs the IUPUI Dean’s Council for the School of Science.

Nieshalla, EliseElise Nieshalla
Personal: Nieshalla has lived in Zionsville for the past 10 years. She and her husband, Chris, have four children: Claire, Elisabeth, Christian and Eli.
Background: Nieshalla, 43, is a graduate of Heritage Christian School and Oral Roberts University. She earned a master’s degree from Indiana University. She is a self-employed property owner, acquiring and managing residential real estate. She is also involved with the Indiana Economic Development Association, Boone County Leadership Program, Hoosier Leadership Series, Zionsville Fellowship Church, Zionsville Meadows and was a State Republican Party delegate in 2014 and past precinct committeeman.

Buchanan, BrianBrian Buchanan
Personal: Buchanan has lived in Lebanon for the last three-and-a-half years. He and his wife, Elisha, have been married five years and have two children, Chase, 3, and Alessandra, 1.
Background: Buchanan, 38, is a sales agent at Buchanan Hauling & Rigging, Inc., a family transportation and logistics business. He graduated from Evansville Reitz High School in 1996, served as the Indiana FFA Sentinel in 1996-1997 and earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Purdue University in 2001. He is a 2015 graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum. He is also involved with the AgrIInstitute Board of Directors, Indiana FFA Leadership Center Committee, Lebanon Christian Church, Indiana Farm Bureau and Purdue University.

Cooper, DonDon Cooper
Personal: Cooper has lived in Boone County for the last 9 years and has been a Thorntown resident for three years. He is married to Deena and has two children: Brook, 21, and Macy 19.
Background: Cooper, 46, works as Regional Director North America Business Development for PTC. He is a graduate of North Newton Junior Senior High School in Morocco, Ind., and Purdue University. He earned an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1996. He is also involved with the Purdue Polytechnic Alumni Board, Prosci Change Management and Progress Coaching.

Personal: Braner has lived in Lebanon for 17 years. He is married to Janis and has four children, Nicholas, Grant, Grace and Gabrielle.
Background: Braner, 48, is a graduate of Tri-West High School and the IUPUI Kelly School of Business. He is a Realtor with RE/MAX Ability Plus in Zionsville. He’s involved with the Boone County Area Planning Commission, Lebanon Area Boys and Girls Club, Boone County Division of Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors, National Association of Realtors. He has coached youth, middle school and high school students in Boone County for 25 years.

Personal: Wilhoite is a resident of Lebanon and a lifelong resident of Boone County.
Background: Wilhoite is a graduate of Lebanon High School and the University of Notre Dame. She is the owner and principal of Marcia C. Wilhoite, CPA. She is a member of the Boone County Redevelopment Commission, president of the Boone County Solid Waste Board and a committee member of the 4-H Pavilion Building. Baldwin, NikkiNicole K. “Nikki” Baldwin
Personal: A lifelong Boone County resident (except during her time at Ball State University), Baldwin lives in Whitestown with her husband, Jim, and sons Zackary, 12, and Mathias, 11.
Background: Baldwin graduated from Lebanon High School in 1990 and attended Ball State University before transferring to IUPUI and earning a paralegal certificate. She is the incumbent Boone Co. Recorder and is unopposed in the primary. She attends Traders Point Christian Church and serves on the Education Committee of the Indiana Recorder’s Association. She is also a member of the Association of Indiana Counties and serves on the Boone County Indiana Bicentennial Time Capsule Committee.
