The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado passed through the area of Zionsville and Whitestown on April 28.
No injuries were reported from the EF-1 tornado, but a barn just west of 875 E and the Rock Bridge neighborhood suffered significant damage. Two homes in the Rock Bridge neighborhood also sustained damage. The tornado also damaged trees and fences in the area.
Several Boone County agencies helped respond to the situation, including the Zionsville Police Dept., Zionsville Fire Dept., Zionsville Street Dept., Boone County Sheriff’s Office, BCEA Boone REMC, Boone County EMA, Boone County Red Cross, National Weather Service and Duke Energy.
