Riverview Health to offer sports physicals for student athletes

Riverview Health Rehab & Fitness has announced it will offer physical examinations performed by a licensed medical doctor for student athletes in grades six through 12.

Physicals will take place during the following dates and times:

For Noblesville Schools students: 5:30 to 8 p.m., April 27

For Westfield Washington Schools students: 5:30 to 8 p.m., May 4

For Sheridan Community Schools students: 5:30 to 8 p.m., May 23

Each half-hour time slot is limited to 30 students, and sports physicals will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration is required and can be completed online at riverview.org/physicals. Those interested will need to bring a printed registration receipt as proof of payment. Cost is $25. Registration can also be completed on site. Cash or checks made payable to Riverview Health will be accepted.

In addition, Riverview Health is offering an optional cardiac screening for student athletes. This screening evaluates the potential risk of sudden death from cardiac-related abnormalities. The test consists of an electrocardiogram and an echocardiogram and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. This screening is offered at a cost of $30 and is available at Riverview Health Heart & Vascular. Please call Riverview Health Central Scheduling at 317-776-7247 to make an appointment for this screening.
