Obituary: Peggy J. “Peg” Wilson

Peggy J. “Peg” Wilson, 86, died Feb. 25 at Copper Trace in Westfield. She was born March 31, 1929 to John T. and Margaret L. (Coy) Cross in Kokomo.

Peggy was secretary for Bob Haverstick (her surrogate son) at CBSI in Sheridan. She loved her four kitties as much as she did her family! Peggy retired in 2004 from her part-time position at the Hamilton Co. Recorder’s office. She was a volunteer at Riverview Hospital for many years and was a lifelong active member of the Women of The Moose. Peggy was an avid bowler on many leagues. She loved to crochet and made many beautiful baby blankets for the maternity ward at Riverview Hospital. Peggy loved to read, solve crossword puzzles and watch all sports (even golf).

She is survived by her children, Vicki G. Calvert of Waynetown, Ind., Soni and Tom Sully of Pensacola, Fla., John R. Abbott of Phoenix, Ariz., and Debbie and Phillip Folkerts of Noblesville.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Wilson, Nov. 6, 2003.
