ProWellness Chiropractic wants to help Fishers residents make their health and wellness a priority not just during the New Year’s resolution-heavy month of January, but all year long.

Each month, one to two learning sessions will be offered on various health topics. PWC owner Dr. David Evans wants to engage more within the Fishers community.

“Fishers is an awesome community to live in. It’s so health conscious,” he said. “With me raising a daughter, I want it to be a healthy community she can be raised in. I want to create an environment where the kids are healthy, the community is healthy and I’m just trying to do my part.”

Classes will be on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. On Feb. 8, Mike Lewkowicz, owner of 1 & Only Fitness in Fishers, will be discussing core strength and how it can affect the body.

The learning sessions are free to attend, snacks will be provided and attendees will be entered to win a massage at the end of each class. Acupuncturist Renee Walsh will discuss acupuncture and how it can help patients during a February session. The rest of the year’s dates are to be determined.

“That’s where most people will want to follow us on Facebook and stay connected to see when the actual dates are going to be,” Evans said.

This spring, classes will focus on nutrition and exercise.

“We’ll go over food labels, organic vs. non-organic, whether to consume milk or not,” Evans said. “We’ll do a class on essential oils, how and why to use them. We’ll do a special class over at Pure Barre. We’re going to do a 21-day detox program in the spring. We’ll do pre and post blood work to see what the body is doing. We usually get really good results. It helps to target the liver, kidneys and intestines.”

Those who complete the spring detox program will be entered into a raffle for a weekend trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. For more, visit prowellnesschiro.com.
