Shortly after the ball dropped on Times Square, IU Health North welcomed its first baby of 2016. Maternity Center associates delivered this first bundle of joy-a baby girl-at 3:39 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Indianapolis Northside residents Katie and Tim Dorsey met their child, Rosemary Elizabeth, quite a bit earlier than expected. Rosemary wasn’t due until early February but decided to make her appearance on her own terms. The baby girl weighed 5 pounds 10 ounces and measured 18 inches in length. Mom and baby are doing well.

To celebrate baby Rosemary’s arrival, Tim and Katie were presented with a Baby New Year “Welcome Basket” from IU Health North, including a cozy baby outfit, snuggle blanket, stuffed lamb, story book and more. IU Health North’s entire team of associates congratulates the Dorsey family on the birth of their first baby.
