Residents of The Barrington of Carmel retirement community are lending a helping hand to those making a difference in the community with their second annual Christmas tree-decorating contest and canned food drive. Featuring five trees decorated by The Barrington’s administration, nursing, lifestyles, maintenance and dining services departments, residents voted for their favorite trees by making canned food donations, all of which were given to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana at the resident-thrown employee appreciation party. The maintenance department’s tree won the contest, and altogether, the residents donated 400 cans of food.
