Loaded gun found in Anson Meijer restroom

Whitestown police are looking into who may have left a loaded gun in the family restroom at the Anson Meijer. The store manager turned the firearm over to police at about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 14.

“It is unknown at this time who the firearm belongs to or who may have left the firearm in the restroom,” stated Whitestown Police Dept. Chief Dennis Anderson.

Police collected the weapon and logged it into evidence as found property.

“This is an active case and an investigator will be reviewing store security video,” Anderson said
