Why did you become a teacher? I had some amazing teachers growing up. They made learning fun, and I actually enjoyed going to their classes. After those experiences, I could never picture myself doing anything else for a career.

What goals do you have for your students? Of course I want my students to be the best musician they can be.  But really I want them to enjoy what they are doing. Have fun making music!

What do you encourage parents to do at home to help their children strengthen particular skills? Encourage your student to TRY. You can’t be successful at anything unless you TRY!

Name your favorite movie. All of the Harry Potter movies.

Name your favorite musician or band. I like a lot of different types of music, but Johnny Cash is by far one of my favorites.

What’s something your students might not know about you? I learned to swing dance in college. My dancing partner and I performed at the basketball half-time shows, homecoming events and competed several times.
