Christmas in the Village is in full swing, with several holiday events planned throughout the month of December.

“We have a lot of activities planned this year, so we hope to see a lot of people join us,” said Julie Johns-Cole, executive director of the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, which plans the event. “It’s a really family-friendly event.”

On Dec. 5, children will have the chance to join Santa for breakfast. Holiday home tours, concerts, art shows and more will be offered throughout the day.

Ladies are welcome to an evening on the town Dec. 10. Village area shops are open from 5 to 8 p.m. and are offering activities and specials to help shoppers find just the right gifts for Christmas.

Dec. 17 features a Christmas Crawl from 6 to 9 p.m. Main Street will offer samples of seasonal beverages and appetizers from restaurants. Attend or participate in a karaoke and an ugly sweater contest for a chance to win prizes at the end of the night.

Each weekend will offer a variety of free activities to the public in honor of this established Zionsville tradition. At Christmas in the Village there will be a horse-drawn carriage, barrel-train, trolley-rides, visits with Santa, and other forms of live-entertainment.

“We see several thousand people and it’s free,” Johns-Cole said, “These events are a small effort to thank all residents and customers of businesses.”
