Santa Claus is coming to Clay Terrace onSaturday, November 21, to usher in the sights, sounds and sales of the busy holiday shopping season. Shoppers will soon benefit from of 22 hours of shopping on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, extended shopping hours throughout the month of December and more savings with a variety of sales and promotional offers at Carmel’s premier shopping destination.

Shoppers will gobble-up the deals as Clay Terrace extends its hours for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. The mall will be open from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m. on Thursday, November 26 and again from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Black Friday, November 27, giving early bird shoppers a head start for this year’s holiday season. Extended hours will continue throughout the holiday shopping season.

According to the National Retail Federation, sales in November and December are expected to increase a solid 3.7 percent to $630.7 billion — significantly higher than the 10-year average of 2.5 percent. The 2014 holiday season rang up a hefty $616.1 billion in U.S. sales, 4 percent more than the previous year.

“Clay Terrace is ready to welcome families who will benefit from our extended shopping hours and great sales from nationally recognized and locally owned retailers,” said Jennifer Jones, mall manager at Clay Terrace. “We are encouraged by the national retail projections and look forward to shoppers taking advantage of our popular selection of stores, holiday festivities and charitable initiatives as they complete their holiday gift list.”

This year, Clay Terrace is pleased to present the following enchanting holiday happenings:

Santa Arrival Event, Saturday, November 21 from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Adults and children of all ages will join Santa Claus and his winter wonderland friends as they usher in the official start of the holiday season. Escorted by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a race car driven by Indy Lights driver Zach Veach, Santa will circle the mall and will stop at his home away from home to host a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the Village Green in front of Dick’s Sporting Goods.

In addition, children can visit Santa’s live reindeer during the event and will enjoy a variety of entertainment, including arts and crafts, face painting, balloon twisters and more. During the event, shoppers will also enjoy a special warming lounge, courtesy of Indiana University Health. The lounge will feature a coloring station, seating, restrooms and a station where shoppers can discover health tips.

The Santa Photo Experience, November 21 – December 24

As a kick-off to the season, eager children and their families can experience the joy and magic of the holiday season with the Santa Photo Experience, sponsored by Indiana University Health, in the Village Green near Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Riley Hospital for Children Family Giving Tree, Saturday, November 21

Every child deserves to experience the joy of the holiday season, including children who will be away from home for treatment at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Shoppers can help make wishes come true for patients and their families by participating in the Riley at IU Health Family Giving Tree. Located near Santa’s home at Clay Terrace, the Riley at IU Health Family Giving Tree is decorated with numbered paper tags. Shoppers can remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase new, unwrapped gifts and return them to Guest Services.
