The 1st Avenue Folk Series at The Warehouse will host the folk duo The Half Step Sisters at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 21. This concert is co-presented by The Warehouse and Flying Cat Concerts. Tickets are available in advance for $20 at liveforthemusic.com and will be $25 at the door. The show will be open to all ages, and the bar will be open to those 21 and older.
According to a press release, The Half Step Sisters are an Indianapolis-based duo. Highlighting many vocal styles and harmonies, Katie Burk plays the fiddle and Julia Conway plays the double bass. They first joined musical forces in 2008 to explore their own take on folk and roots music.
The Half Step Sisters were chosen to perform on NPR’s “A Prairie Home Companion Duet Competition” in 2012 and placed third with their version of “Sister Kate.” The Half Step Sisters often feature D. Mark Conway on acoustic guitar and Johnandrew Bellner on mandolin.
