About 60 nativities from around the world will be up for auction at Rock the Manger, a fundraiser for the youth at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. The event is set for 6 to 11 p.m. Nov. 13 at Ulen Country Club, 100 Country Club Dr. in Lebanon.

Proceeds will be used to fund a trip for parish young adults to attend World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland, next July. Additionally, 10 percent of funds raised will be allocated equally between Love, Inc. and Shalom House. Both organizations provide meals and other types of assistance or services to Boone County residents.

Nativities in the auction were donated by Father Timothy Kroeger.

“They are beautiful, and they’re from all over the world,” event committee member Sharon Milewski said, adding that four pieces were deemed to be exceptionally unique and have been reserved for a live auction.

Bidding on all items opened Nov. 6 online at wedoauctions.net/rockthemanger, and opening bids on most pieces start between $40 and $60. Milewski said community members who are unable to attend the event may bid on items through the website. Preview images are available online with brief item descriptions.

The event will open an hour early for the VIP cocktail hour, with a general cocktail hour beginning at 6 p.m. A plated meal will be served beginning at 6:45 p.m. Live entertainment from The Flying Toasters will begin at 8 p.m.

Individual seats may be purchased for $125. The event committee is seeking event sponsors. Table sponsorships begin at $1,000, and overall event sponsorships range up to $5,000. Tax-deductible general donations may also be made through the website.
