Indy Premier Soccer Club keeps growing.

To accommodate that growth, Indy Premier is developing two fields at McCordsville Sports Park, which is just northeast of downtown McCordsville off of Pendleton Pike.

“The McCordsville Sports Park is to ease the congestion at Cumberland Park, which is our primary club home field-wise for Fishers-based players,” said Jamie Wood, Indy Premier general manager. “Right now we’re running at 95 percent capacity at Cumberland.”

There are seven fields at Cumberland. The expansion at McCordsville Sports Park will aid the Rec Plus players. Wood said it will be especially beneficial to those that live on the east side of Fishers. Those Rec Plus teams include rosters of players who attend Geist, Fall Creek and Thorpe Creek elementary schools, all of which are five to 15 minutes away from the park, according to Indy Premier website.

“They manage to get the seeding late this fall so we’re hoping that by July of 2016 will be our first usage out there,” Wood said.

Indy Premier is working on a long-term lease from the McCordsville Sports Park owners.

Indy Premier also is adding fields in Noblesville with the purchase of Trinity Sports Park, a 20-acre site. Wood said the closing of the sale of Trinity Sports Park, 6835 E. 161st St., Noblesville, should be completed this month.

That adds five full-sided outdoor fields, boosting the club’s total number of fields to 17.

The diamonds need to be converted into soccer fields, which could take 12 months. However, the outfield areas could be used in the meantime.

“We already have a small indoor facility and this one will be larger,” Wood said. “We’ll be fully utilizing that through the week straight away. One of the great parts of the facility is very accessible to Westfield, Carmel, Noblesville and Fishers.”

The facility is five miles from downtown Fishers and three miles from downtown Noblesville.

Trinity Sports Park will service primarily the travel program.
