The Joseph Maley Foundation hosted its fifth annual fall luncheon on Oct. 16. Nearly 200 individuals gathered at the Rathskeller to recognize the commitment of JMF’s volunteers, celebrate the programs and work of the organization and to renew and energize the foundation’s efforts in serving children of all abilities. JMF, which was founded by Zionsville resident Vivian Maley to honor her late son, awarded three individuals and one organization for their dedication.

Mary Bowman, a physical therapist in the Pike Township school system, was recognized with the Excellence in Service Award. She was instrumental in developing the JMFamily Advocacy Program and is a key participant in JMFA parent information sessions and continuing legal education courses.

JMF recognized David Dennie as Volunteer of the Year. He is the manager for product approval and compliance at CNO Financial Group. He is the co-chair of the JMF 5K Run, Walk, Roll.

The 2015 Distinguished Corporate Partner Award was presented to Trends International, a company that finds innovative ways to champion JMF programs and operations, including supporting the Kids on the Block Puppet Troupe and offering guidance to the JMF Junior Board.

The 2015 Crystal Butterfly recipient was Barb Bates. She works as an application analyst for AT&T and donates her time to fill any need at JMF.
