Letter: One reader doesn’t speak for all Christians

Editor,

In God We Trust! All of us carry that quote in the palm of our hand every day. Yet many people disregard this small print on our currency that our founding fathers placed there. But there are many devout Christians, Catholic and Protestants, who hold this quote close to their hearts.

In response to Zach Dobson’s, reader’s views 10/10/2015, heresy needs to be corrected.  He fails to see beyond his own blinders. Blinders that have him believing that a Christian will refuse to sell their goods to the LGBT community. Christians have no problem making birthday cakes, cookies for a barbeque or offering flower arrangements for home gatherings or funerals, etc. to our LGBT customer. The issue goes deeper than that.

When a Christian business owner works hard for his/her customers, they are also honoring God and trusting in Him that their company will succeed. So steps in the LGBT customer who wants the Christian business owner to make and serve at a gay wedding. We all know that Christians honor Gods Word that marriage is between a man and a woman. To support or encourage others to defy Holy Matrimony is a sin.  The owners are not discriminating against the person but the ritual.

So why is the LGBT customer forcing the Christian owner to sin? Why do they feel that we need to deny God, deny our conscience and deny how we feel inside? Didn’t the man who felt more like a woman inside, also feel that he needed to deny his conscience and deny how he felt inside? Did the community force them to stay the way they were? Threaten to sue them and take away their jobs if they continued to feel this way?  No! So again, why is our community forcing Christians to go against how they feel?  There are plenty of bakeries and florist who are more than happy to serve the ritual. Stop ruining others people’s lives.

Zach’s blinders have also denied him to seek the true meaning of Pope Francis’s words. He has allowed the media to brainwash him. Our Pope’s words were for our brothers and sisters in the LGBT community, because they are children of God. Not once did he bless nor encourage the actions that are done in the privacy of the bedroom.  Obviously he does not understand nor does he speak for the devout Catholics! He is right on one thing, he is not a theologian!

Lastly, he needs to stop using the argument of interracial marriage. It’s old and overused and doesn’t even apply. Because man is to leave his family and cling to his wife and thus the two become one. This is the only way to become one in the flesh! Fifty years ago racial tension was extremely high. But God only saw a man and a woman in love. Even Moses married a foreigner which was considered interracial. This sad example is like comparing apples to oranges.
