A new Lawrence housing division of two-story, single-family homes recently held it’s grand opening at its location near historic Fort Harrison State Park. The site of The Residences at Lawrence Village at the Fort by David Weekley Homes offers spacious housing plans with the convenience of walkability to the nearby amenities of the area.

“We thought it was a good site because of the redevelopment down there,” said Indianapolis Division President Michael Luedke. “You’ve got the state park that’s basically a block away, you’ve got a YMCA that’s on-site there as well and you’ve got a new restaurant and Triton Brewery right there. There’s a lot of walkability that’s going on where you can walk to restaurants and the park. It’s also the only new single-family site on the old base.”

A total of 74 lots are planned for the home division with half the lots currently established and the remainder of lots scheduled to be plotted in phase two of construction. The homes are priced in the $200 thousand range and feature three- and four-bedroom homes containing spacious kitchens with large islands and granite countertops, ceramic tile backsplashes and stainless steel appliances.

Currently there are two homes available for open house tours; The Peachwood and The Oakhaven, located at 5747 and 5735 Buskirk Dr. Other homes in the area are under construction and are expected to be near completion by the end of the year.

“We currently have two fully furnished models that are open,” Luedke said. “We’ve got I think six or seven homes under construction right now. We have three sold homes and then we have five inventory homes. I would think that they would be close to getting finished by the end of this year.”
