Mark Donald Schmidt, 56, of Fishers, died Sept. 30 at IU Health Saxony in Fishers. He was born on Oct. 11, 1958 to William C. and Lois (Whittenberg) Schmidt in Chicago, Illinois. His mother precedes him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Jill (Merida) Schmidt; his father, William C. Schmidt; and his two daughters, Taylor Paige Schmidt and Sydney Caina Schmidt. He loved his family more than anything.
Mark was the sales manager for Shorr Packaging in Fishers and was a leader in the business community. He was a loving family man who was full of life, found joy in everything, and was a great friend. He was quick-witted, and loved horses (especially watching Taylor ride at K-State). He knew that his buddy, Sydney ‘Sydo’, was their daughter, the moment they first laid eyes on her in China. Oh how he loved both of his girls!
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 6, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with Pastor David Sumrall officiating. Visitation was Oct. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
