Joe Hill, 92, Cicero, died Oct. 6 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born on Feb. 20, 1923 to Walter and Barbara (Jones) Hill in Cicero.

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II, flying a B-24 nose gunner, and was awarded a Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired from Firestone in 1981 after 32 years of service and was an avid golfer. Joe was a former member of Prairie Baptist Church and the Good Sam’s Camp Club and enjoyed wintering in Florida.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Dixie) Hill of Arcadia, and Greg (Kady) Hill of Noblesville; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Betty W. Hill in 2001; and brothers, Richard, Bob, Duane, Beacher and Bryce Hill.
