The second Zionsville Chamber Business Expo will give the public an opportunity to learn more about the services and products offered by members of the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce and hear about economic development.

Sixty businesses are expected to attend the event at Eagle Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8.

“It’s a great opportunity for people in the community to come out to see what businesses in Zionsville have to offer,” said Diane Schultz, director of member services for the Chamber.

This year the Chamber added a luncheon featuring a panel of business and political leaders to discuss their roles in workforce and economic development for the Zionsville. Panel member Steve Braun, Indiana’s commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development, will address the topic from the state’s perspective. Zionsville Mayor Jeff Papa will speak about Creekside Corporate Park, and Josh Garrett, CSO and co-founder of MOBI, will share his role in starting a local business.

Attending the luncheon requires a ticket that can be obtained for free by contacting the chamber or registering on the website.

“It’s obviously a networking opportunity,” Zionsville Chamber Executive Director Julie Johns-Cole said. “We’re showcasing our member businesses.”

While the opportunity to have a booth at the Expo is restricted to chamber members, businesses are invited to join the chamber in order to participate. Johns-Cole noted the businesses who joined last year to take part are still members and multiple businesses have joined this year so they could participate.

“This is a great way to promote chamber membership,” Johns-Cole said.

Last year’s inaugural Expo took place at the Indy Executive Airport and was an evening affair. Attendee feedback prompted the change to daytime with a luncheon, according to Johns-Cole. The success of the panel could determine whether the Chamber adds similar luncheons on a regular basis in the future.
