Letter: Z’Sparkle Party and Drag Race a success

Editor,

Aug. 14 Z’Sparkle Party Drag Race to End Alzheimer’s was a “sparkling” success in its sixth year on the bricks! Nearly 40 of the finest (and bravest) gentleman in the Zionsville area community and beyond donned dresses, high heels and all the accessories and “raced” down Main Street in exchange for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. Thanks to Zionsville Meadows’ generous sponsorship, 100 percent of the money they raised goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter.

Thank you Cobblestone Grill for sponsoring the bar and for donating back all profits. Thank you Sherman Burdette and Patty Spitler for donating your time to host the event. Thanks also goes to Akard’s True Value Hardware, Chromatics Studio, Commercial Artisans Graphic Design, Paul Dreier, El Toro Mexican Restaurant, Goodman Jewelers, Granite City Restaurant, Lesley Jane’s, Patrick’s Kitchen and Drinks, Pillow Soft Web Design, Salon G, The Snider Group, Tie Dye For and Zionsville Flower Company for their generous support and donation of goods and services.

But most importantly, we want to thank not just the sponsors, the dozens of hard working volunteers, the drag stars and their pit crews, but also the Zionsville community for their incredible support of this event in the fun spirit with which it was intended. Thank you all for helping to keep the “sparkle” alive for the more than 5.4 million Americans suffering from Alzheimer’s disease by being a part of raising such amazing funds and awareness for the cause.
