Suspect on the loose after morning robbery at Zionsville CVS

Update: On the afternoon of July 23, Zionsville Police Dept. Chief Robert Knox issued a press release stating that the robbery was an armed robbery. A call to 9-1-1 was made at 9:49 a.m. from the store.

The suspect entered the CVS and went directly to the pharmacy area and presented the pharmacist with a note demanding specific narcotics. The suspect implied he had a weapon, however no weapon was displayed. After receiving the narcotics, the suspect fled southbound through the parking lot on food. Officers responding to the robbery passed the “get away” vehicle traveling southbound on Ford Road at a very high speed. The suspect failed to negotiate the curve from Ford Road to eastbound west 96th street and crashed in a fence line.

Police arrived on the scene with K-9 units to search for the suspect. Lebanon and Hamilton Co. police officers also assisted.

A juvenile male subject was discovered and taken into police custody and has been detained in law enforcement custody.

The actual suspect that entered the pharmacy has been described as a black male wearing dark colored clothing.

Update: 96th and Ford Road in Zionsville is still closed due to a police investigation.

The Zionsville Police Dept. is now searching for the suspect of a potential armed robbery that took place July 23 at the Zionsville CVS, 1146 W. Oak St.

The robbery took place sometime before 10 a.m., according to the Boone Co. Sheriff’s Dept. The suspect implied he had a weapon on him but no weapon was seen.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 5 feet 5 inches tall and wearing a red checkered shirt.

He fled the scene with another male in a gold Chevy impala, according to reports.
