Rural Zionsville house fire

On Sunday, July 12  at 5:42 a.m., Boone County Fire Dispatchers received a 911 call from a passerby reporting a house fire. The first unit on the scene reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the building. The residents were not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack to control the fire.

Due to a lack of hydrants in the area additional tankers were called to the scene. The fire was under control at 6:45 am. Damage totals expected to exceed $20,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Zionsville Fire Department and Boone County

Fire Investigation Task Force fire investigators.

Agencies that responded included: Zionsville Fire Department, Whitestown Fire Department, Center Twp. Fire Department, Perry Twp. Fire Department, Brownsburg Fire Territory, Lizton Fire Department, Lebanon Fire Department, Boone County EMS, Boone County Fire Investigation Task Force, Boone County Sheriff’s Department, and the Whitestown Police Department.
