Salon Eclipse is celebrating 25 years in business by offering different specials throughout the year.
“Each month we will celebrate something to do with the number 25,” owner Sherry Paul said.
The salon is family-operated, with Paul’s daughter and niece both working there. Throughout the years, many young stylists have worked for Paul and built up their clientele through Salon Eclipse, then moved on to start their own salons. Paul said that five other salons have originated from hers.
“I love training and passing on my knowledge to the younger stylists, so my goal would someday be for a young stylist to take over salon,” Paul said.
Paul has many long term clients, one of which is Linda Kern, who co-owns a Zionsville shoe business with her husband.
“I don’t remember why she was recommended to me, but what I have found is that she listens to us, which is always nice when you want something done with your hair,” Kern said. “She’s always has good things to suggest when you are ready for a change and is always very considerate in changing appointment times.”
With Zionsville’s quick growth in recent years, Paul said it has become more difficult to bring new clients into a family-owned small business. She said it was easier back when everybody knew each other.
Although Paul, soon to be 61, plans on working for quite a while longer, she said it would be nice for a young person to come and assist with marketing over social media to get the word out about the salon to reach Zionsville’s newest residents.
Salon Eclipse is at 1428 W. Oak St. and is open Mondays by appointment only and Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 873-0399.
