On June 4 Allisonville Nursery will host Evening in the Garden-Wine & Roses from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event will be located in the rose gardens of the nursery located at 11405 Allisonville Rd. in Fishers. Owner, Jeff Gatewood started the nursery in 1976.
“The event is part of our Evening in the Garden series of events throughout the summer. The nursery stays open later and we provide entertainment, food and wine. It’s just a low-key casual way to experience the nursery,” said Scott Bardash, Marketing Manager for Allisonville Nursery.
Monique Rust, an Indianapolis-based singer/songwriter, will provide the musical entertainment for the evening. Bardash described Rust’s style as acoustic and soulful.
Rettig Hill Winery which has local ties will be serving up their wines at the cash bar.
“It’s a Fishers family and they have an estate winery in Columbus, Ind.,” said Bardash.
Complimentary food will be provided by the Fresh Market in Fishers for guests to enjoy.
The tour of the rose gardens will feature a variety of different roses including English roses by David Austin Roses, Hybrid Tea, Floribunda and climbing roses.
While the nursery has held events in the past the different themes for the events are new.
“Evening in the Garden is something we’ve done for quite some time now but the theme of the evenings is a new thing. We’ll have Wine & Roses in and then in a few weeks we have a Plant to Plate which focuses on healthier eating. We’ll have Duos Mobile Food Truck. Then Blues, Brew and BBQ is in July which is a huge event and just a lot of fun,” said Bardash.
The event is free but guests are encouraged to register in advance. Guests can register and learn more about upcoming events by visiting Allisonvillenursery.com.
