On May 27, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Fishers Police Department dispatched officers to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian, Melody S. Anderson, Fishers, and a Toyota Prius. The crash occurred in the 15300 block of Charbono Street. Officers arrived at the scene to find the pedestrian trapped beneath the vehicle. Officers attempted to lift the vehicle. Paramedics from Fishers Department of Emergency Services arrived shortly after police and pronounced the victim deceased.
A crash investigation team interviewed witnesses as well as the driver of the Toyota involved. The driver, Susan J. Leonard, Fishers, remained at the scene and was fully cooperative with investigators.
As of press time the crash is still under investigation, but at this time it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
