34th Annual Hamilton County Law Enforcement Memorial Service honoring fallen police officers tonight in Carmel

Police officers from Hamilton and Boone County & Indiana State Police who have fallen in the line of duty are recognized at this Police Memorial Service every year. This year’s service is May 6 at 7 p.m. at Carmel Civic Square.

Participants will include Mayor James Brainard, Congresswoman Susan Brooks, Chief Tim Green from the Carmel Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff Mark Bowen, Chief Kevin Jowitt from the Noblesville Police Department, Chief Joel Rush from the Westfield Police Department, and Superintendent Doug Carter from the Indiana State Police. Jennifer Nicholson, Noblesville, will be singing “The Lord’s Prayer.” Katrien Vanderbeck, Carmel High School, will be singing “Go Rest High On That Mountain”.

Darren T. Sroufe, PhD, will be the keynote speaker. He is retired with 23 years of service in Law Enforcement with Evansville Police Department and serves as Chaplain for the FOP Lodge #73 & the Indiana State FOP Critical Incident/Memorial Team.

Carmel Police Major Lee Goodman will be giving the welcome speech and the Indianapolis 500 Gordon Pipers will be performing “Amazing Grace.” Elementary school choirs from College Wood, Towne Meadow and Mohawk Trails will also be performing during this special event.

Members from the following police departments will be participating: Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Hamilton County, Noblesville, and Indiana State Police

The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
