The March Teacher of the Month winner is Tom Landrum, band director at Zionsville Community High School. He was nominated by student Adam Schaefer. As a reward, Adam won a pizza party for his class and Landrum won a $100 cash voucher from Teacher of the Month sponsor BMO Harris bank. Pizza was sponsored by Amore Pizzeria.

Here is Adam’s winning essay:

“Mr. Landrum deserves to be honored teacher of the month because he is dedicated to making his students the best musicians they can be. Mr. Landrum has many good qualities that make him an excellent band teacher, one of these qualities is patience. When we are stuck at a part in the music he will take time to help his students learn the part. During marching band Mr. Landrum will help us do our best with positive reinforcement and encouragement. When it comes to music theory he shows us creative ways to remember intervals, order of sharps and key signatures.”
