In the current economic marketplace, more and more people are seeking new ways to find their next employment opportunity. Often it is the journey to finding that job that offers the toughest challenge to overcome.

Robert Meyers, a career advising professional with more than 20 years of experience, hopes to help job seekers tackle this issue and more during a free Job Search Workshop, hosted by Traders Point Christian Church on May 2 and 9.

The two-part workshop will include sessions from 8 a.m. to noon in The Point at Traders Point Christian Church, 6590 Indianapolis Rd. in Whitestown. Those interested in attending can register online at www.tpcc.org/events.

During the two sessions, Meyers will guide participants through the fundamentals of a job search, review the creation and refinement of resumes, cover letters and portfolios, and demonstrate how to research in the current marketplace. He will also discuss the best ways to network in a chosen job field, explain how to be the top candidate during the interview process and provide techniques for negotiating the best offer.

Attendees are encouraged to bring supplies for taking notes and a current resume.
