Attorney Erika K. Singler is the lone candidate on the ballot for Zionsville town judge in the May primary election. Singler, 35, has lived in Zionsville for nearly three years and enjoys living near the restaurants and shops on Main Street.

How many years have you lived in Zionsville? 3 years in June.

How did you end up in Zionsville? My husband and I sought out Zionsville because it is one of the few distinct communities around Indianapolis. We were drawn to Zionsville because we wanted to live in a historic home in the village area and be able to walk to the restaurants and shops on Main Street.

Why do you want to run for elected office? I care a great deal about Zionsville and I feel strongly that I should be involved in the community so that I can do my part in keeping Zionsville an excellent place to live.

What is your previous political experience? I have never run for an elected office before.

What are your top priorities if elected? I would seek to fairly resolve matters before the court pursuant to the law.

What are your qualifications to run for this office? I have been an attorney in private practice in Indiana since 2005. I am a founding partner of Halcomb Singler, LLP, a law firm located in Carmel representing individuals and small businesses. I routinely advocate for the interest of my clients in state and federal court.

What is your favorite thing about Zionsville? I really can’t pick one thing that is my favorite about Zionsville. I love going to and volunteering at the Zionsville Farmer’s Market, the Street Dance, and the Lincoln Park Concert series.

What area do you think is Zionsville’s greatest need for improvement? In my opinion, Zionsville is a great place and doesn’t need much improvement. I believe the focus should be on the preservation of the high quality of life in Zionsville as the town grows in population.
