For the past several years, the Arc of Greater Boone County has been cultivating “Arc Artisans” by hosting an annual art show, which has gained a loyal following. The artisans are clients who receive professional instruction as they create canvasses, scarves, notecards and other items to sell.

Last year, the Arc expanded its commitment to the arts by launching a traveling social event called Creativity Uncorked. It provides an opportunity for attendees to paint their own canvas while receiving instruction from a professional, enjoying drinks and shopping work created by the Arc Artisans.

“Creativity Uncorked is a wine and canvas experience that we bring to you,” Clutter said.  “Guests give a donation to The Arc of Greater Boone County and are treated to an evening of fun, food and an art project led by our professional teaching artist, Bella Heilbrunn.”

During the event – which can be held almost anywhere – attendees use their own styles, techniques and colors to create a unique piece of artwork.

Creativity Uncorked made its Zionsville debut on March 12 during Disability Awareness Month. About 80 people attended, which raised more than $5,000 for the Arc and led to the booking of several additional Creativity Uncorked events. Clutter hopes the event will return to town at the same time next year to help promote the Arc and its mission.

“We are very excited about our new Zionsville event, which we plan to do annually,” Clutter said.  “We believe that it will be a very sought after invitation, and sponsors will be very happy to be a part of it.”
