It may not be a pot of gold, but guests are likely to find a lot of fun at the Noblesville Main Street St. Patrick’s Day themed Luck Squared First Friday event from 5 to 8 p.m. March 6. NMS Executive Director Chris Owens said attendees can look for #Hipstoric green signs around the square and snap a picture. Pictures posted to www.facebook.com/HipstoricNoblesville will be entered in the contest and one lucky person will win a set of Hipstoric T-shirts.

“We’ve had a lot of demand with these T-shirts,” Owens said.

Also available will be pictures with the “First Friday” Leprechauns, Fionn and Fiona, at the Visitors Center, 839 Conner St. Fionn (Tom Britt) and Fiona (Promise Road Elementary Principal Kelly Treinen) are running for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man and Woman of the Year. Owens said as a way to help cheer them on and raise money to benefit LLS, Main Street will be accepting freewill donations.

“The two are genuinely excited,” Owens said. “They just want to make a difference and that’s amazing.”

This is the second time NMS has had a philanthropic angle of one of its special events in the past four months. November’s Beards and Brews donated a portion of its proceeds to Movember Indy and its efforts to bring awareness of cancers affecting men.

“I’m anxious to see how this is received. I think the Michael Treinen story is very compelling and pretty recent. I hope it’s a reminder to folks,” Owens said. “Anytime you can engage the community for a great cause like this is a good thing. We can’t help every organization every time but with Tom Britt and Kelly Treinen it seemed like a perfect fit. We can have some fun and do some good for a good cause.”

In addition to the NMS activities, Owens said most businesses offer later hours and specials during the monthly events. Owens said NMS expanded to offer more First Friday events last year.

“In 2014 there was some effort to do them in February and March,” he said. “Whatever we can do to bring folks to downtown Noblesville we see as a positive.”
