Dancers perform “The Nutcracker” at Story Time

By Brittany Fleetwood

On Dec. 1, dancers from the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, of Carmel, performed during a book reading of “The Nutcracker” to a group of children at the Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library in Zionsville.

As children huddled around the storyteller and cuddled next to their parents, they enjoyed the performance by characters Clara, her Nutcracker Prince and The Sugar Plum Fairy.

After the reading, participants lined up to take pictures and speak with the dancers who performed during the story. This is only one of many free events held by Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library during the holiday season.
