Mariana Sparks, 90, of Noblesville, died Dec. 16, 2014 at The Lodge Assisted Living in Noblesville. Born April 9, 1924 in Dixon, Ky., she was the daughter of James and Marian (Lisman) Melton.

She had been a teacher at Bloomfield and Worthington high schools, where she had taught everything from science to physical education. She was a member of Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthington; and enjoyed gardening, camping, spending winters in Texas, and watching the Pacers.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa (Brian) Herrington; grandchildren, Lora (Derek) Weed and Joshua Herrington; great-grandchild, Ezra Weed; brother and sister-in-law, Jewell and Lowell Sparks; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Bill Sparks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 20 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dan Crosley will officiate. Entombment of ashes will at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
