Beauty isn’t about your appearance to please others; it’s about your very own beauty and finding your own style inside and outside. A lot of what I see in beauty is just getting out of your comfort zone and exploring. Try something new, a fresh bright splash of color, put on a new scarf, get a new haircut, maybe change the shade of lipstick, how about going to a new restaurant? Try something that will give you new energy, which will give you something new to talk about.

Change does not have to be expensive, go to a library and check out a book for inspiration. You can even drag a friend or two along with you to cheer you on and have a party. Don’t worry about what your friends will say.

I work with a lot of clients as a cosmetologist, who share their thoughts with me. The number one rule in beauty is no negative self-talk…words like fat, ugly, too tall, too short, nose too big, bad ears, too old for that, I could never do that. We were all designed to be just the way we are. All parts of us are perfect. I just want to know who decides what the perfect shape is and how anyone could stop us from being who we are.

Break through your old style, glam it up, climb out of the same old same old and try something new.  Beauty isn’t about anyone else’s style but yours.  The real you is the most beautiful. It’s inside and outside.

My recommendation for something new this season, try a new lipstick shade or type.

There are many different types of lipsticks and shades. You can use them according to your mood or shape of your lips.

Words to look for when buying lip products:

Moisturizing – vitamin E, glycerin, and Aloe

Matte – colorful, flat, smoother and younger lips

Cream – have more wax, great for women with small lips

Pearl – sparkle and glisten, reflects light, cause lips to feel heavy and dry

Gloss – makes lips look bigger, combine with any lipstick

Long wearing – Four to eight hours until you eat something greasy or oily
