The following information was submitted to Current in Carmel from the Carmel Police Dept. in regards to the armed robbery on Sept. 26.
On Sept. 26, around 9:43 p.m., Carmel Police responded to the Rusted Window located at 99 East Carmel Drive Suite 140 in reference to a Robbery. Officers arrived and met with the employees.
One suspect was described as a black male approximately 6’00” tall, thin build wearing a navy blue zip-up hoodie, gray sweat pants, basketball shorts under the sweatpants, a blue and white bandana covering his face and carrying a long silver handgun. The second suspect was described as a black male approximately 5’10”, medium build, wearing a navy hoodie.
During the robbery, the suspects stole an employee’s purse that contained an undisclosed amount of money and credit cards. The suspects then fled the scene through the back door of the business. Surveillance cameras recorded the suspect vehicle during the robbery.
On Sept. 27 at approximately 9 p.m., Carmel Police observed a vehicle matching the description of the Robbery suspect vehicle from the night before. A traffic stop was conducted. Through further investigation, three suspects were arrested for the Rusted Window Robbery on September 26th.
Suspect #1: Jalen L-Jamal Hardy, a black male, 20 years old from Indianapolis, IN.
Charges: (1) Robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, IC 35-42-5-1 a Class III felony. (2) Pointing a Firearm, IC 35-47-4-3 a Class A Misdemeanor. (3) Possession of Handgun without a License, IC 35-47-2-1, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Hardy is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
Suspect #2: Brandon L. Tillis, a black male, 27 years old from Indianapolis, IN.
Charges: (1) Robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, IC 35-42-5-1 a Class III felony, and (2) Possession of Marijuana, IC 35-48-4-11 a Class B Misdemeanor.
Tillis is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $27,500 bond.
Suspect #3: Deronte Korien White, a black male, 19 years old from Indianapolis, IN
Charges: (1) Robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, IC 35-42-5-1 a Class III felony.
White is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
