Robert J. Boyd, 85, of Carmel, passed away Sept. 24. He was born on March 24, 1929 in Fergus Falls, MN. He worked as a Microbiologist at Eli Lilly for 35 years before retiring in 1992. Bob was a proud veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Margaret and a brother. Survivors include his son, John (Julia) Boyd and daughter, Gracia (Dean) Lane; grandchildren, Andrea, Christopher, Taylor and Mollie; 3 great-grandchildren and one sister.
Family and friends will gather on Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. in Carmel United Methodist Church, of which Bob was a member and the where the funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. in the Tippecanoe Christian cemetery, Winamac, IN.
